Sally Bunting appears only in Sharpe's Justice TV Movie, one of the few adaptions that was not actually based on the books by Bernard Cornwell.

She grew up in the same foundling home that Richard Sharpe had, though older by several years, and had provided extra food the the boy Sharpe, and had apparently been a single source of friendship. By 1814, was working as the matron there. She provided Sharpe with information, and was beaten to extract information by Sharpe's enemies. By film's end she had taken up with Dan Hagman.

Note: Sharpe's Justice is outside Sharpe canon as it contradicts Sharpe's history as established in the novels, most specifically; Sharpe was not born in Yorkshire, but fled there from his native London at age 12 or 13, his mother died when he was three, he had no known siblings.
